2. What are the documents required to start a new company?

Copies of Trade License and Firm Card are the documents required to start a new company.Further, an application is to be submitted to the MOL for the Opening Firm Cards in the Ministry of Labor and DNRD. This application must have the necessary documents and specified fees along with it.

Also, you must have a local partner in case the company is LLC or local service agent, if the company holds professional license. Some activities require additional approval from other departments or ministries in UAE.

3.In L.L.C. what is roles of local partner?

The local partner will only be the sponsor of the company and will not interfere in any day-to-day activities of the company as per the agreement with Sponsor. In this arrangement, the local U.A.E. sponsor is paid an annual sponsorship fee. Management control of the company will always be with the foreign investor. This is why finding the right local U.A.E. sponsor is crucial to the success of your business.

4.Can a sole proprietorship/partnership company be converted into a L.L.C.?

Minimum two and maximum fifty persons can form a limited liability company. However, U.A.E. National’s share in the capital should be minimum 51%; at any given time share of the U.A.E. National partner should not fall below 51%. Partners may be natural persons or a corporate body/company. Each partner shall be responsible only to the extent of his share in the capital for the company’s liabilities.

5.Can the company open branches in Dubai?

The company can open branches in Dubai by submitting an application along with the original trade licence and other documents.

6.Can the company open branches in other Emirates?

Any company can operate in any of the Emirates. An existing company will have to incorporate a new company/branch in other Emirates with the required capital and with a new Memorandum of Association stating therein that this new company is a branch of the Dubai Company.

7.Can the partners admit a new partner?

Existing L.L.C. can admit new partner with full capital contribution in cash or kind. If the company opts for kind contribution the following documents are required:

Sale of Shares Agreement
Audited financial statements
Statement of capital contributed in kind by all the partners
Resolution of the partners
Amendment in the Memorandum of Association of the company

8.Can a partner transfer his shares to any other partner or person?

Yes, the following documents are required to transfer shares by one partner to another partner/ person:

9.Can you arrange a Bank account for my business?
Yes and you can choose the bank you wish to have an account with for yourself and your company. The bank account will be provided for you upon the establishment of your business.

1.What is a trading license? Can you supply me with this for my business?

A Trading License allows a business to undertake a specific business activity or concern. This is being issued by the Economic Development Department. A trading license must be obtained first before one can start undertaking any business activity. Intuit will make things easier for you! We can get the Trading License on your behalf.

2.For how long is the trading license valid?

The trade license is issued for a period of one year and the same has to be renewed every year.

1.Can an individual get a P.O Box or does it have to be a company?

You can get your own personal mail box. The only disadvantage is you have to go and get your own mail however. Our collection and delivery service includes personal mail boxes.

2.Can I have my mail delivered directly to my home?

There is no mail delivery to street addresses in the U.A.E., all mail goes to PO Boxes at the various post office locations. Intuit’s assistants will collect and deliver your mail to your home or office address.

3.If I change the location of my P.O. Box, can I keep the same number?

If you sign up for a PO Box in another emirate or new location in the same emirate, you will end up with a new PO Box number.

IMC’s virtual office allows you to get all the privileges that you can have from a serviced office without any need for you to be actually there. Work from home or overseas while having the prestige of getting a local business address.
